The system consists of three distinct categories:

  • Primary Structural Frame Members (Hot Rolled Built-Up): Columns, Rafters
  • Secondary Structural Frame Members (Cold-Formed): Wall Girts, Purlins, Eave Strut
  • Rolled profile sheeting: Wall and Roof Panels

Design and Applications

Steel bundling has a long history. In Britain From late 17OO’s, they made effort to construct fireproof steel structure for agriculture and textile industries. By the late of nineteenth century,” portable iron house” had been sold to gold rush pioneers. At that time, the first skyscraper had been built.

In the early of 20th century, steel building has become more popular around the world. After World War II, steel building has widely accepted because of cost efficiency with improved material and vast applications.

In the United States, nearly 70% of new low-rise buildings are composed of metal building system. Over 80 years, more than 14 million metal building systems have been constructed.

The Steel buildling construction system has gradually become the fastest growing building system in the world with advantages to the non-residential single storey building and an efficient alternative to the typical conven tional building systems.
